Bangkok –
The Ministry of Public Health established a vaccination center at Bangrak Medical Institute to inoculate thousands of shots of Covid-19 vaccines to Chinese residents in Thailand as the first group of foreign nationals to be vaccinated in Thailand.
Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said to the associated Thai press yesterday, May 20th, that the Thai government has a profound relationship with the Chinese government. The People’s Republic of China in Thailand has also coordinated with the Chinese government regarding the Sinovac vaccine trading and funding for emergency use during current major outbreaks in the country. China has given large amounts of vaccines to Thailand as part of their partnership.

An additional 5 million doses that were donated by the Chinese government and recently arrived in Thailand will have an amount to be injected into more than 100,000 Chinese residents in Thailand that are holding Chinese passports and listed at the Chinese embassy.
Another 500,000 doses set to arrive in the country will be provided to Thai people, including Thai students and agency personnel who are planned to study or train abroad. Foreigners are also included in the next phase, starting in early June, as TPN media announced earlier today.
“As the government’s priority to vaccinate everyone in Thailand, the policy will improve the vaccine service to accommodate the wider population, including foreigners, to be able to receive injections faster, which will also speed up herd immunity in Thailand,” Anutin stated.
