Chonburi’s “One Hundred One Hero” Foundation contributes 135,000 baht to Chonburi authorities for establishing health checkpoints to prevent spread of Covid-19

Chonburi –

Chonburi’s “One Hundred One Hero” Foundation has contributed a donation of 135,000 baht to the Chonburi authorities yesterday, May 8th, for establishing health checkpoints to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 Coronavirus in the province.

Wittaya Khunpluem, President of the Chonburi Provincial Administration Organization, and Pattaya Governor Sonthaya Khunpluem have led the “One Hundred One Hero” group to deliver funding to the Chonburi governmental authorities, chaired by Phakthorn Thianchai as the Governor of Chonburi Province.

The “One Hundred One Hero” was founded under the cooperation of local residents in Chonburi province with the aim to collectively control and prevent the domestic spread of Covid-19 in the province. The fund was voluntarily raised by the people of Chonburi in order to support local public health and related agencies.

The donation will be used to build health checkpoints on several travel routes to prevent the spread of Covid-19, according to the PAO president, in order to curb the pandemic situation in the province as soon as possible. These checkpoints, according to authorities, will be different from previous ones that required residents to submit paperwork and have to make visits to district offices, increasing the risk of in-person contact that could spread the Covid-19 virus.

Chonburi officials have stated they will be looking into relaunching checkpoints in a more logical manner, without setting officials and the public at risk but still by controlling the flow of movement in and out of the province, later this week. No specific details were immediately announced on the proposal. As of press time, Chonburi remains a “deep red province” for Covid-19.
