Chonburi Sharks lose to Chiang Rai Beetles 5-4 in Chang FA Cup Final in thrilling penalty shootout

Bangkok, Thailand-

The Chonburi FC Sharks lost 5-4 to the Chiang Rai United Beetles at Thammasat University last night in the Chang FA Cup Final game which was performed without a crowd due to Covid-19 precautions.

The Chonburi Sharks came in as the underdogs after beating Buriram United last week in a result that shocked many observers but regardless of how they were seen put up what was judged by most as a fantastic fight to the end.

The result came after the game was tied 1-1 in extra time in a penalty shootout which was thrilling and had fans at home on the edge of their seats.

Regardless of the result, the Chonburi Sharks had performed admirably for the entire season according to their supporters and fans were eagerly looking forward to the next. Chonburi is the province where Pattaya is located in Thailand and the Sharks had not previously been in an FC Cup final one-on-one since 2014.

Congratulations to the Chiang Rai United Beetles for a very hard-fought win.
