The Thai Meteorological Department announced today, March 3rd, that summer thunderstorms are possible for the upper parts of the country with isolated gusty winds and thunderbolts in the areas from March 3rd to the 4th.
The moderate high-pressure system has covered the northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. The southerly and the southeasterly winds also bring humidity from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea into the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the Eastern regions.
Affected areas are as follows:
March 3
North: Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Kamphaengphet, Phichit, Phetchabun, and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Chaiyaphum, and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, Samut Sakhon, and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
March 4
North: Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Kamphaengphet, Phichit, Phetchabun, and Tak.
Central: Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
People should beware of the severe conditions by keeping off unsecured buildings and outdoor places. Farmers should prepare for possible crop damage.
