COVID – 19 local transmission confirmed for Indian national in Krabi

Krabi, Thailand-

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration or CCSA announced an Indian man as a new case of domestic transmission in Krabi today.

The one new case of Thailand domestic transmission is an Indian national, 37, who is working at a restaurant on Southern Krabi. The exact name of the restaurant was not given by the CCSA.

On Wednesday (November 4th) he went to a hospital for his work permit and tested positive. He is now being treated at Krabi Hospital.

Today (November 7th) Thailand reported 12 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, 9 from people on repatriation flights and in state quarantine centers, 2 from people who traveled from abroad, and 1 from domestic transmission, with 0 deaths reported; the total remains at 3,830 infections, and 60 deaths.

Officials in Krabi are asking the public to stay calm. However, subsequent tests on the patient have so far been negative although his blood results have been sent to a Thai hospital for further examination.
