Three more locally spread cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus were found in Mae Sot at the Myanmar border in Tak. They are all family members of previously confirmed cases of a Myanmar husband and wife who reside in Thailand.
Thanitaphon Chaiyanan, an advisor to the Deputy Minister of Public Health, announced at a press conference yesterday evening that they had received a preliminary report that two Myanmar Nationals in the Tak province had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

Tak Governor Phongrat Piromrat revealed at a press conference yesterday(October 17) that three more locally spread cases of Covid-19 were found and are a child, nephew and niece of the previous confirmed two cases of a Myanmar husband and wife.
Five educational places and one child development center are temporarily closed for one week. Religious places are requested not to do any large religious gatherings.
All natural borders in Tak are to be temporarily closed by Monday (October 19) at least for seven days. The Pattaya News notes that general travel across the borders has always been closed since the Covid-19 outbreak in March, however, limited border travel for supply related convoys has been allowed. Limited closure of hospitality related businesses in the Mae Sot area have also reportedly been closed out of precaution.
