Thailand’s Meteorological Department has announced this morning, September 16, that heavy to very heavy rain triggered by tropical storm ‘Noul’ is forecast this weekend, from September 18th to 20th, in wide areas across the country.
The storm is reportedly moving in a west-northwest direction and expected to make landfall over middle Vietnam before causing heavy rain over Northeast Thailand this Friday.
Meanwhile, a monsoon from the Southwest across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand is forecast to bring more rain, causing heavy to very heavy rain with strong winds to hit the Northeastern, North, Central, Eastern, and Southern regions respectively.
Areas to be affected are as follows:
September 18
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon, Kalasin, Mahasarakham, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, and Roi Et.
East: Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces
South: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun provinces
September 19
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Kamphaeng Phet, Sukhothai, and Tak

September 20
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Sukhothai, and Kamphaeng Phet provinces
Central: Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Uthai Thani, Suphanburi, and Chainat
East: Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat
South: Phetchaburi Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi
The meteorological department has advised locals living in the following areas to beware and prepare for natural disasters, such as flash floods, landslides, or forest runoffs, that might occur during the upcoming weekend.
