Garbage man loses both legs in horrific car accident in Pattaya

A Cambodian man lost both of his legs after a car crashed a into garbage truck in Nongprue early yesterday morning. This is the second accident that has caused an amputation with a local sanitation worker in a week in the Pattaya area.
Capt Jakkrit Setnawet of the Nongprue Police was notified of an accident at 2AM on a road near the railway in Khao Talo.

The Pattaya News and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the damaged garbage truck on the road.
Nearby, they found a 28 year old Cambodian man named Boonruean Chuan. He had sustained serious injuries.
Both of his legs were amputated during the accident. He and his legs were taken to Bang Lamung Hospital.

A damaged sedan was found at the back of the garbage truck.
Another garbage man who escaped injuries said at the time of the accident Mr. Boonruean was on the road to collect garbage from bins.

The sedan was driving with high speed before colliding at the back of the garbage truck. Mr. Boonruean was too late to escape himself from the collision.
The sedan driver, 38 year old Mr. Saksit Siriphan said at the scene it was too dark as he was unable to see the garbage truck.

The sedan driver was taken to the police station for alcohol test. At this stage he has been charged with reckless driving causing serious injuries.
A similar accident has happened just last week.
