Homeless Pattaya Man Stabs His Alleged Bully at Wat Chai Temple Fair

Pattaya —

A Thai vagabond stabbed his alleged bully who was also homeless in front of the Wat Chai Mongkhon temple last night, April 6th. The victim survived the attack but suffered serious injuries.

Pattaya Police and Sawang Boriboon rescuers rushed to Wat Chai located in South Pattaya in response to a report of a violent physical fight.

The incident took place in an outdoor cinema courtyard in the temple area, which is currently having a temple fair. The authorities assisted an injured victim only identified by rescue workers as Mr. Mu who was crying in agony on the ground.

Mu, aged between 35-45 years old, suffered three serious stab wounds to his right shoulder, nape, and back. He happened to be homeless, police told The Pattaya News. The officers collected a 20-cm-long knife covered with blood at the incident scene. The victim was rushed to a local hospital.

The Pattaya News interviewed eyewitnesses about the incident and were told that people were watching outdoor films when a fight between the victim and another man who also looked like homeless suddenly erupted, shocking the crowd.

The two of them briefly exchanged punches and then separated. However, the suspect later returned with a knife and brutally stabbed the victim who was still watching movies before dashing away. The witnesses noted that the victim was actually the aggressor in the first fight.

On the same day of the incident, Pattaya Police began an investigation and quickly arrested the suspect. A 45-year-old vagabond identified as Mr. Suraphon Khamtan reportedly confessed to stabbing Mu because he was mad at him for verbally and physically bullying him.

The perpetrator alleged that the victim punched and kicked him, but he was too small to fight back, so he escaped to steal a knife from a local vendor and went back to stab his homeless fellow in the back, and ran away.

The man was taken into police custody for legal action. The Pattaya News noted that this is the second violent incident happening around Wat Chai. Yesterday, a 17-year-old teenager had an outburst and tried to stab innocent people with a knife after drinking alcohol and smoking weed.

Luckily, he was caught by Good Samaritan before any harm was done.
