Rayong announces three new cases of Covid – 19, new cases increase

The Rayong Public Health Department this afternoon (January 19th) announced three new confirmed cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus in Rayong.

Rayong now has a total of 568 cases of Covid-19 with one death. The man, aged 45, worked at a high risk place in Rayong. He had personal health issues disclosed as diabetes and heart disease.

Of those 568, 533 are Thais while 35 are foreigners/migrant workers.

The Rayong Governor, Mr. Channa Eiamsang, told the local media, “Thank you to Rayong people for their cooperation as well as taking care of themselves until the province’s situation has improved. “

“Also, thank you to all sectors, including government, private sectors, charity organizations, Thai clergy, the local community and devotees for supporting each other and donating food, supplies, and medical equipment as well as setting up aid stations in order to relieve the effects of this Covid-19 situation.”

“Last, but not least, we must be patient and raise our guard high against Covid-19 as well as following the measures strictly, so that the situation in Rayong will return to normal as soon as possible.” The Governor concluded.

The Governor also stated that Rayong was not prepared to lift restrictions closing many business sectors like entertainment and fitness at this time despite growing pressure from business owners.
