Tomorrow, April 2nd, 2018 is National Thai Heritage Conservation Day, Parade on Beach Road

The date, the birthday of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, was decreed by the Cabinet this year to be a time to honor and preserve traditional Thai values and culture.

Mayor Anan Charoenchasri and Pattaya Cultural Council Chairman Mana Yaprakam met with the heads of various city departments to plan official events for the day.

The celebration begins with a Beach Road parade between Central Road and Central Festival Pattaya Beach with participants decked out in Thai period costumes akin to characters in the historical television drama “Buppaysanniwad”, which is all the rage now with local governments trying to piggy-back on its popular to drive tourism.

Booths around Central Festival will sell arts and crafts, Thai food and sweets all made by Pattaya students.

Others will put on music and dance shows at the stage on the beach at Central Road from 3-9 p.m.

The parade is expected to be at 3:00PM starting at Central Festival.
