Pattaya-
A new section of motorway from Pattaya to Maptaphut in Rayong that has been under construction for some time is nearly ready to officially open, the Thai Highway Department has told the local media this week.
The new section is set to be open to the public in May and as part of the grand opening traveling the section will be free for the entire month.
By August the full toll from Bangkok to the U Tapeo Airport will be only 130 baht, according to the highway department.
The project is part of the economic and tourism development of the Eastern Economic Corridor that includes Pattaya and the Eastern seaboard.
Connections from the airport to the Rayong industrial estates will be following in the future.
