Samut Prakan –

A 27-year-old woman was found dead lying unclothed in an apartment in Mueang Samut Prakan yesterday. The victim is a former Pattaya resident and her death unleashed a torrent of grief and social media condolences online. Police believe foul play may be involved.

Police and rescue workers arrived in the room on the second floor to find the body of Ms. Jiraporn P., 27, lying unclothed on a bed.

The apartment caretaker Ms. Nattarika Kanpanit, 25, told police, “Jiraporn had lived alone at the apartment since July 6th.”

“ At 3:00 P.M. on September 3rd, her friends asked to look for her as they could not contact her for many days. The friends had been sent from the victim’s mother, who had reached out to them for help after also not being able to reach her daughter. The room was unlocked and Jiraporn was tragically found deceased on the bed.”

Police checked CCTV footage at the apartment. At 1:30 A.M. on September 1st there was an unknown and unidentified man who visited her before leaving her room at 2:30 A.M.

The unknown man briefly talked with a security guard at the apartment downstairs before leaving the apartment complex.

Police have yet to identify the cause of her death, although believe foul play may be involved, and are continuing their investigation. They have been gathering evidence and speaking with the security guard seen in the footage. The body of Ms. Jirapon was taken to a local hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Police have not ruled out murder at this time, however, cautioned that they need to gather more evidence and see the results of the autopsy.

Jiraporn had previously lived and worked in Pattaya for several years, according to many posts on social media expressing grief for her death, and had made many friends during her time in the city. She had most recently worked primarily selling skin care products online through social media, according to her friends. The Pattaya News notes this is a developing story and will provide any further details as authorities disclose them.
