Chonburi, Thailand-
The Chonburi Governor ordered last night, July 14th, 2021, two more company factories and a construction worker camp in the province closed after cases of Covid-19 were reportedly found at the locations.
This continues an ongoing trend of closures of factories, markets, construction sites, and worker camps/dormitories when Covid-19 clusters and cases are discovered. The temporary closures are under the Thailand “sealed bubble” strategy in which the locations are not only closed but staff living and working there are quarantined, regardless of their testing status for Covid-19, and may not enter or exit the area without permission from Chonburi Public Health officials.
In theory, the Ministry of Labor is assisting with helping workers who do not have the financial means for purchasing food, water, and supplies with essential purchases.
Closed in Order 56/2564 are:
1. Charoonrat Company Products Co., Ltd., located in the Khlong Kio Subdistrict, Ban Bueng District
2. Hen Fong Company Home Living Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., located in the Nong Bon Daeng Subdistrict, Ban Bueng District
3. “PDK Company Engineering and Construction Company Limited, which is located within the construction site of Nippon Konpo (Thailand), located in Nong Kham Subdistrict, Si Racha District
This temporary closure is effective immediately until at least August 10th, 2021.
