Seven gamblers have been arrested over alleged offenses to the Thai emergency decree in Si Racha.
The Laem Chabang Police was notified of the alleged gambling via the LINE official application and website âGambling Reportâ this week.
A tip came in from what was described as a âconcerned citizen” afraid of the potential spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
Police, responding to the tip, raided a house in the Thung Sukhla sub-district.
Seven gamblers had reportedly been arrested while they were playing an illegal ‘Hi-Low’ gambling game.
They are facing charges of playing illegal gambling games and gathering in a small place which offends the emergency decree.
Penalties for the violation of this law, in effect due to the Covid-19 situation in Thailand, are strict with high fines and potential jail time.
