Another major phase of the Pattaya drainage construction project is now underway on Pratumnak Soi Five

Pattaya-

Another phase of the drainage system construction project in Pattaya is being worked on at Pratumnak Road Soi 5 with a 123.8 million baht budget.

A team of officials led by The Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Pattana Boonsawat yesterday inspected the construction area around the beach at the bottom of Soi Five.

Deputy Mayor Pattana told The Pattaya News that “The drainage construction is to provide a better path to drain rainwater into the sea and to solve flood problems in Pattaya.”

“The construction will take about 300 days which originally started on May 29. It is expected to be completed around March 24 of next year. We hope that by the time this is completed tourists will be back in Pattaya and the situation will be normal.”

“The total construction budget is 123.8 million baht. We know that during the construction there will be traffic issues and potential headaches for some residents but we ask for their patience as the long term goal of fixing many drainage related issues in the area will be resolved.”
