Thai schools and universities to be fully reopened nationwide on ThursdayÂ
The Office of The Basic Education Commission (OBEC) has sent a letter to all educational institutes today, August 11, regarding that all schools could resume teaching classes from Thursday, August 13, on-wards.
According to the announcement, on-site teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic is still on trial. All schools must conduct five public health measures in social distancing strictly. Large gatherings or group activities are still not recommended during the trial.
Following the governmentâs emergency decrees in March, schools and universities were rescheduled to start the semester on August 1 but not all students were properly studying. Some students are learning in online classes while some are encouraged to go to school and some are not having any classes at all.
The announcement therefore will allow all students across the country to continue their education to participate in school activities with their classmates, although they still have to follow rules of social distancing. They will also still be required to wear masks, wash their hands frequently and other safety measures.
