Sri Racha-
On July 1st, 2024, the Sriracha Municipality organized activities to honor the memory of Field Marshal Maha Amat Ek Chao Phraya Surasakmontri, the founder of Sriracha City.
The event took place at the monument dedicated to Field Marshal Maha Amat Ek, located in front of the Sri Racha Municipality Office.
Mr. Chatchai Timkrachang, Mayor of Sriracha, led the ceremony, which included paying homage to the soul of Field Marshal Chao Phraya Surasakmontri. The event aimed to preserve Sri Racha’s cultural heritage, raise awareness about heroic deeds, and promote tourism.
Sixty-two monks received alms, and nine monks chanted Buddhist mantras for blessings. Mr. Nopparat Sriphrom, Sri Racha District Chief, delivered a speech praising Field Marshal Maha Amat Ek’s contributions. The wreath-laying ceremony honored his legacy.
Chao Phraya Surasakmontri served until His Royal Majesty King Rama VI’s reign, and his efforts founded the Sri Racha District.
