Naked Man Creates Chaos in Pattaya, Disrupting Tourists

Pattaya —

A naked homeless man was arrested in the early hours today after disturbing the public in Central Pattaya.

At 3:06 AM this morning, June 30th, Pattaya police were notified by concerned citizens about a nude man acting erratically while walking along Pattaya Central Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Following the report, police coordinated with Pattaya City Special Services officers and rushed to the scene. They found a man, believed to be Thai and in his 30s or 40s, walking naked in front of a motorcycle shop near a traffic light intersection. The man’s nudity caused significant disruption among passing tourists.

The man, who was also believed to be mentally unstable and homeless, refused to wear clothes when authorities asked him. Fortunately, officers eventually managed to persuade him to get into their vehicle and took him to a safe location.

The Pattaya News notes that this incident sheds light on the ongoing issue of homeless individuals with mental health conditions who reside in abandoned buildings and along sidewalks around Pattaya. The situation, which negatively impacts Pattaya’s tourism image, still waits to be solved.

Pattaya City officials in conjunction with the Chonburi Homeless Protection Shelter have recently been canvassing the streets to aid homeless, as we reported here.

There was also a major recent raid on several sois on Jomtien to clear out homeless and drug users who had been causing headaches for local residents, as reported here.
