Girlfriend of Theft Suspect in Pattaya Goes to Police Station to Support Boyfriend, Gets Arrested After Police Find Stolen Items on Her

Pattaya —

A girlfriend of a theft suspect showed up at the Pattaya Police Station to morally support her boyfriend, who was arrested for a series of recent theft incidents. However, she was quickly apprehended by police after they found numerous stolen items on her.

On June 26th, 2024, Pattaya police arrested Mr. Samphan Prabkratum, 35, who was wanted under a Pattaya Provincial Court arrest warrant number 292/2567, dated June 7th, 2024, on charges of burglary.

The arrest came after Mr. Samphan was suspected of breaking into a dental clinic in Pattaya and stealing 150,000 baht in cash, two mobile phones, one iPad, a gold bracelet, and several amulets at 3 AM on May 15th.

The police tracked the suspect to a room in Soi Khao Phai in Pattaya, where they successfully apprehended him and seized several stolen items. Despite the overwhelming evidence, Mr. Samphan denied all charges during interrogation but was subsequently detained due to what police said was clear CCTV footage of him committing the burglary.

While Mr. Samphan was being questioned, his girlfriend arrived at the police station to see him. However, officers noticed that she was wearing multiple pieces of expensive jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, watches, and rings.

After running a data check, police found that several of these items were stolen property from another recent theft incident. The victim of this case was then invited to the station, where they confirmed that these items had been stolen by Mr. Samphan during a burglary on June 21st. Consequently, the unidentified girlfriend was also arrested and charged.

According to the police, Mr. Samphan had been arrested before for theft and drug-related offenses and was recently released from prison in 2022. He was unemployed and resorted to theft to fund his online gambling addiction, said police.
