Pattaya Deputy Mayor Mr. Manoch Nongyai visited Jomtien Beach yesterday, June 26th, to inspect the construction progress and address concerns raised by local residents about the beach’s beautification project.
Accompanied by representatives from the project contractor, Dynamic Group Products Co., Ltd., Mr. Manoch provided an update on the project’s status and reassured the public that the construction is proceeding according to plan.
He said the project, which began in late April of 2024, aims to improve the beachfront landscape and tackle recurring flooding issues in Pattaya and Jomtien. Currently, the construction has reached 10% completion, with the contractor laying drainage pipes and pouring concrete in one 200-meter section. Mr. Manoch explained that the contractor is allowed to work on a maximum of three sections at a time, totaling 600 meters, to minimize disruption to traffic and tourism activities.
Mr. Manoch anticipated that the construction would be completed ahead of the contractual deadline in 2025.
As for the project’s details, it involves installing underground electrical systems, new drainage and lighting systems, improvements to sidewalks and trees, and constructing drainage points near the two boat ramps.
The parking spaces will also be increased from the current capacity of 629 cars to 1,161 cars. Additionally, electrical wires will be put underground along the entire 4 km stretch of Na Jomtien Beach.
