Pattaya and National Telecom Partner to Further Develop 5G Pattaya Smart City

Pattaya City and the National Telecom Plc (NT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development of the 5G Pattaya Smart City project.

The signing was carried out on Tuesday, June 25th, by Pattaya City Mayor Mr. Poramase Ngampichet and Colonel Sapphachai Huwanan, NT President, at Pattaya City Hall. This collaboration aims to apply 5G internet technology, artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT) for Pattaya’s overall city management.

The project includes the installation of “Smart Poles” throughout Pattaya City to improve 5G internet accessibility and quality of life for residents and tourists.

Pattaya Mayor Mr. Poramase announced that Pattaya is embracing the Smart City concept to enhance its appeal and livability. He said that the city is suitable for all kinds of activities and has prime venues for conferences, seminars, academic gatherings, and exhibitions. The city’s partnership with NT will further improve these even further.

Meanwhile, NT President Colonel Sapphachai stated that NT is committed to assisting in improving Pattaya’s management and livability through digital infrastructure, a 5G network, a smart city data platform, and other smart service innovations in the future.
