Sri Racha Police Arrest Man for Stealing TVs from Kindergarten School

Sri Racha —

Tourist police in Sri Racha arrested a Thai man yesterday, June 24th, for stealing two TVs from a kindergarten classroom.

The suspect, identified as Mr. Prawit Paladnu, 26, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Chonburi Provincial Court released on June 6th, 2024, on charges of “theft in a government building by damaging obstacles used to protect people or property, or entering through such obstacles by any means during nighttime.”

Mr. Prawit was apprehended on a roadside in Soi Siwarom Village, Tung Sukhla sub-district, Sri Racha district, Chonburi province.

According to Sri Racha Tourist Police, Mr. Prawit allegedly broke into a local school’s classroom and stole two 50-inch Samsung TVs being used by the school for teaching kindergarten students. He fled the scene after the crime, leaving behind clothes and tools used in the break-in. The school subsequently filed a police report with the Sri Racha Police Station.

It was understood that Mr. Prawit had a history of committing theft in the past. The arresting officers searched his room and found the stolen TVs.

Mr. Prawit reportedly confessed to committing the crime, stating that he did it because he was unemployed and did not have money. He would post the stolen items on social media to find buyers and use the money for personal expenses and leisure activities.

The suspect is being detained for further legal action as of press time.
