Lao Man Falls from Pattaya Condo After Argument with Partner

Pattaya —

A Lao man has died after falling from the 12th floor of a condominium in Pattaya following an argument with his partner.

The tragic incident occurred at 3:36 AM on June 25th, 2024, at a condominium on Thappraya Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Pattaya police, The Pattaya News, and rescue workers rushed to the scene after being notified of the incident.

When authorities arrived, they found the body of the victim, identified by police as Mr. Kitan Chaleunxay, 25, lying on the ground. He had fallen from his room on the 12th floor and had died instantly. His boyfriend was present at the scene, visibly distraught by the incident.

Police interviewed eyewitness Ms. Supha Hasiya, 32, who lived across from the victim’s building. She said that she heard someone crying and saw Mr. Chaleunxay sitting on the edge of his balcony. Fearing for his safety, Ms. Supha contacted a security guard; however, the victim suddenly jumped and fell to his demise.

Mr. Chaleunxay’s boyfriend, a 33-year-old Thai man (name withheld by police), told police that he had been out at a nightclub with Mr. Chaleunxay earlier in the evening, but they had left separately after an argument. The boyfriend said that he had not returned the victim’s calls before the tragedy.

Mr. Chaleunxay often argued with his boyfriend, but the boyfriend never expected the victim to take his own life, according to his statement.

Police are still investigating the incident. The body was sent to a forensic institution for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
