Chonburi —
Bangsaen Beach in Chonburi province was pounded by high waves yesterday, causing debris to be strewn all over the shore.
The incident occurred the previous night when the high tide caused seawater to overflow and flood Bangsaen Beach and the Wonnapha-Bangsaen Beach Road in Saensuk sub-district, Mueang Chonburi district. The waves were over one meter high, deterring beachgoers from relaxing at the beach.
Fortunately, as of 10:10 AM today, June 25th, Bangsaen Beach has already returned to its normal, calm state. However, the high tide also brought significant debris onto the beach.
In response to the unsightly scene, the Saensuk Municipality deployed a team of municipal workers to clean up the beach this morning. The municipality reported that over 90% of the debris had already been removed, and the work is expected to be completed today.
Mr. Prakrit Waewphech, 60, a beach chair rental operator, told local media that he has been working at Bangsaen Beach for over a decade and has never witnessed such high waves and strong winds before. He said his business had been negatively impacted by the lack of tourists, but he is hopeful that things will return to normal soon.
