Pyrolysis Gasoline Storage Tank Catches Fire in Rayong, Three People Hospitalized

Rayong —

A massive fire erupted at a pyrolysis gasoline storage tank at a company located in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong province on May 9th, 2024, at 10:30 AM.

The incident triggered an explosion, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky and causing injuries to three individuals. The injured people were rushed to Bangkok Rayong Hospital.

Nearby residents were evacuated from the vicinity of the fire to ensure their safety. According to reports, the blaze was already brought under control.

The cause of the incident is still not known as of press time.

Update: The fire erupted again and is still ongoing as of 3:40 PM. Reports also indicated that one person has passed away in the incident. The area has been declared as an emergency zone.
