Chonburi Governor Gives Away 100,000 Liters of Water to Locals on Koh Larn

Pattaya —

Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Srithong, along with Pattaya city officials and relevant agencies, visited Koh Larn on May 7th, to distribute 100,000 liters of free water to residents affected by Thailand’s current dry season.

This generous giveaway instantly provided relief to over 50 households on the island, according to Mr. Thawatchai. Each household received around 2,000 liters of clean water for their daily lives.

Prior to the distribution, residents on Koh Larn reported facing severe water scarcity. They complained that the price of water rose nearly fourfold, from 300 baht to over 1,200 baht, during the high-demand period.

According to the Chonburi governor, Pattaya City will provide an additional 150,000 liters of water to the locals in the near future, while the city works on finding a long-term solution to the problem.

Pattaya also saw its first decent rains in months on May 7th but needs to see plenty more to fully relieve ongoing water shortages and droughts.
