Bomb Blast in Narathiwat: Four People Injured in Suspected Southern Border Province Attack

At 9:35 PM, on May 6th, 2024, Mueang Narathiwat police officers received a bomb incident report at the Tha Phraya Dam, Mueang Narathiwat, Narathiwat, resulting in four injuries.

Mueang Narathiwat police and relevant agencies were dispatched to the incident scene and found a motorbike attached to a bomb engulfed in flame. Two Volunteer Defense officers suffered injuries and two women suffered serious injuries.


Narathiwat emergency services then transferred the four victims to the Changwat Narathiwat Hospital for immediate medical treatment.


According to Mueang Narathiwat police, many locals were shopping at a market 200 meters away from the incident scene before the explosion occurred. The explosive sound caused panic among the locals, Volunteer Defense officers then assisted and evacuated the locals for safety.
Initially, the police officers reportedly assumed that the bomb incident was to cause chaos in the three southern border provinces by a group of southern criminals.


Narathiwat forensic and relevant agencies would thoroughly investigate and inspect the incident scene to track down the involved individuals accountable for their crimes.
