Sattahip —

A Polish motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a sidecar motorcycle on a road in Na Jomtien, Sattahip, yesterday evening, May 5th.

The accident occurred at 5:40 PM in front of a construction materials store on Sukhumvit Road in Na Jomtien, Sattahip district, Chonburi province. Na Jomtien police were notified of the incident and rushed to the scene along with rescue workers from the Sattahip Sawang Rojanatham Foundation.

Upon arrival, officers found two injured men at the scene. The first victim, identified as Mr. Benjamin Kesik, 19, a Polish national, was lying in the middle of the road with a large open wound on his left knee and abrasions on his body. He had been riding a Kawasaki motorcycle, which was left in a damaged state at the scene. Mr. Benjamin was rushed to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital for treatment.

The second victim, a 35-year-old man with unknown nationality, identified only as Mr. Mong, was found with abrasions on his body. He had been driving a Honda Wave motorcycle with a sidecar, which was modified to sell roti. Mr. Mong was taken to the Wat Yansangwararam Woramahawihan Hospital for medical attention.

According to footage captured by a dashcam of a motorist who was driving behind the two victims, the Polish motorcyclist was allegedly speeding along the road when the sidecar motorcycle, which was about to make a U-turn, cut in front of him, causing the collision. The impact sent both motorcyclists and their vehicles flying in opposite directions.

Na Jomtien police were reviewing the footage and would summon both parties to take appropriate legal action once they recovered.
