Thai Prime Minister Urges Release of Hostages in Gaza: Joins 17 Leaders in Call for Immediate Action

On April 25th, 2024, Mr. Srettha Thavisin, the Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, publicly posted on X regarding a call for the release of hostages in Gaza, Palestine.

Concerning the unsettling situation in the Middle East, Srettha held a remote conference with 17 other national leaders who had their citizens held captive in Gaza and called for the immediate release of all hostages.

According to Srettha’s post, he stated “Today, I joined fellow leaders of 17 countries with remaining hostages in Gaza in a Joint Statement, calling for the immediate release of all hostages, including our 8 Thai nationals. I view this matter as an urgent humanitarian issue and will continue to do my utmost for the safety and the release of our Thai nationals so that they can return home as soon as possible.”
