Pathum Thani—
At 9:15 PM, on April 24th, 2024, Thai police and relevant agencies captured a Cambodian woman with 5.3 million amphetamine pills at a house in Nong Suea, Pathum Thani.
According to the police report, the Cambodian suspect, publicly identified as Mrs. Saraitus On, a 30-year-old Cambodian, was allegedly involved in the drug trafficking network “First Klong Luang” as well as her Thai husband, publicly identified only as Mr. Virayuth or First.
The police captured the Cambodian suspect at a house in Nong Suea, Pathum Thani, with 2.8 million amphetamine pills after her husband was able to flee police pursuit into an irrigation canal nearby at night. The police reportedly found another lot of 2.5 million amphetamine pills and a 9 mm pistol inside a car nearby.
Previously, the police investigated a case of drug trafficking from a neighboring country involving the prime suspect, publicly identified only as Mr. Sarayuth who was hiding abroad, who had ordered Virayuth to transport a massive lot of amphetamine from the north to central Thailand.
According to the police, in December 2023, Virayuth and his wife rented a house in Nong Khae, Saraburi, to store the illicit substances. However, the suspects reportedly were tipped off and relocated the illicit substances to the house in Nong Suea, Pathum Thani for further distribution to locals.
The police were able to track down Virayuth’s recent location and pursue him. Virayuth reportedly was able to initially escape into an irrigation canal and left his wife at the house.
It was reported that the police were able to seize 5.3 million amphetamine pills in total as another 2.3 million were recently distributed to others.
The successful operation was under the direct order of Mr. Chada Thaiseth, the Deputy Minister of the Interior, to eradicate illicit substances in Thai society with strict measures against drug dealers.
