Chiang Rai—
On April 23rd, 2024, Chiang Rai local media reported a violent wildfire destroying more than 400 Rai near the Golden Triangle in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai.
According to Chiang Saen District Administrative and relevant officers, more than 20 fire trucks were dispatched to control and prevent the fires from spreading further to local residences and governmental properties.
It was reported that the wildfire was initiated on the morning of April 22nd, and the firefighters were able to extinguish and control the fire from spreading further. However, the wildfires started to spread again in the afternoon on the same day and spread further to more than 400 Rai.
At 10:00 PM, on April 23rd, the relevant agencies were able to successfully control the wildfires. Officers were reportedly dispatched on standby to prevent the wildfires from igniting again.
