Thai Woman Loses Expensive iPhone to Pickpocket During Wanlai in Pattaya

A young Thai woman cried after her bag was slashed and her brand new iPhone 14 was stolen during the past Wanlai festival in Pattaya on April 19th, 2024.

The incident just came to the spotlight yesterday, April 23rd, after the Facebook page “Kratoey Review” posted on the platform a short video clip of a Thai woman, later identified as 22-year-old Ms. Sujira, crying after losing her iPhone to a thief/thieves during Wanlai.

According to reports, the victim was enjoying the water festivity when she realized her phone was missing from her water-resistant crossbody bag. The victim checked through her iPad and discovered that her iPhone had been switched off at 8:52 PM.

Devastated, Ms. Sujira reported the theft to the Pattaya police, only to learn that she was not the only victim. Police revealed that many people had reported similar incidents on the same day and that apprehending the culprits might be difficult due to the fact that the there are both Thai and foreign suspects.

Ms. Sujira expressed her disappointment and urged authorities to swiftly apprehend the culprits. An investigation is continuing.
