On April 11th, 2024, Thai national media reported that the Bangkok Government was utilizing CCTV security technology for economic potential, tourism development, and stopping crime.
The Bangkok Government aimed to enhance the quality of citizens’ lives with the city’s CCTV units of more than 64,474 units (according to the data from the Bangkok Government on March 11th, 2024) installed across Bangkok. With local CCTV and Bangkok CCTV overall, it could comprehensively monitor safety and security in wide areas.
Furthermore, Bangkok citizens could request and monitor footage from CCTV in real time that the Bangkok Government had made together in cooperation with the locals.
Meanwhile, AI technology was utilized for CCTV across Bangkok City aimed to warn and capture traffic violators on the roads such as parking beyond the stop lines, obstructing parking, riding motorbikes on the pavement, and other traffic violations.
In the future, the Bangkok Government would utilize the use of AI technology in CCTV for the safety of citizens’ lives for other orders, according to Thai national media.
