Pattaya Chef Pleads With Thief to Return His Stolen Motorbike

Pattaya —

A chef in Pattaya is begging the thief who had stolen his motorbike to return it, saying he needed it for his livelihood.

According to Mr. Thanat Thongphaeng, a 46-year-old Chinese food chef, the theft occurred on the night of April 7th, 2024. Mr. Thanat had parked his grey-blue Honda Wave 125i motorcycle outside his apartment in Soi Khao Talo, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Security camera footage captured the thief, a man wearing a black jacket, jeans, and white sneakers, walking around the motorcycle before sitting on it and hot wiring it. The suspect then calmly kicked the handlebars until the lock broke and rode away. The theft took place in less than half an hour.

Mr. Thanat reported the theft to the Banglamung Police Station. He said that he had only bought the motorcycle 10 months ago and needed it to get to work. Mr. Thanat appealed to the thief to return the motorcycle, saying that he was also struggling financially.

The police are investigating the theft and are trying to identify the suspect as of press time.
