Pattaya police are investigating a violent assault that took place near a sidewalk on Jomtien Beach.
The incident, which took place on an unknown date, was filmed and posted by a Facebook user. The video appears to show six men brutally attacking a young Thai man. One of the attackers, a man wearing a red shirt, also pulled out a handgun and hit the victim in the face five times.
Then, a Thai woman was seen running across the street to try to stop the attack. Several other people, including motorists and tourists, also stopped to watch.
The video was given to the local media on April 9th, 2024. The Facebook user who posted the video also posted other photos and messages that suggest that there was an ongoing conflict between the victim and the attackers.
It is not yet clear whether the victim has filed a police report.
Police were dispatched to the scene of the crime, which is located near Jomtien Beach. They are interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.
