Morning Fire Damages Pattaya Luxury Hotel, No Injuries

Pattaya —

A fire broke out at a luxury hotel’s storage room in Pattaya around 10 AM on Thursday, March 28th, 2024.

Crews of firefighters rushed to the hotel, whose name was withheld in light of the ongoing investigation, located on Soi Pattaya 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi.

On their arrival, the team was met with thick smoke billowing from the fire source in the room where the hotel used to store maintenance equipment. Hotel guests already escaped the building, and luckily, there were no reports of injuries.

The firefighters blocked onlookers from entering the area and began spraying water into the fire. Within minutes, the flames were quelled but not before it destroyed the whole room along with the equipment.

According to an unidentified hotel clerk, they smelled and noticed smoke coming from the storage room. Upon opening the door, they were met with intense flames that were burning equipment. The clerk and other hotel staff attempted to extinguish the fire themselves but to no avail. They then called authorities for help.

Pol. Capt. Chanan Kasornbua from the Pattaya Police Station presumed that the fire might have been ignited by a short circuit. The estimated damage of the incident could be hundreds of thousands of baht, the officer said.

This isn’t the first fire recently at a building with many tourists, as earlier this month a fire broke out at The Edge condo causing over a hundred tourists to flee. Luckily, there were no major injuries.
