Pattaya Deputy Mayor Confident Bali Hai Pier Will Get a New Roof Before Songkran

Pattaya —

Pattaya Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai ensured the public that the roof construction at Bali Hai Pier will be completed before Songkran in April.

On Tuesday, March 19th, Deputy Mayor Manoch, along with city council members, travelled to inspect the ongoing construction project at Bali Hai Pier. The project involves two key aspects: repairing the pier’s old structure and adding a roof over the pedestrian walkway.

According to Mr. Manoch, the pier has been used for decades to accommodate tens of thousands of visitors daily. This prompted the pier to necessitate repairs to ensure the safety of both locals and tourists. The city has addressed these concerns by hiring a construction company to work on the pier’s lower section, focusing on repairing its structural weaknesses.

Simultaneously, a 300-meter-long roof is being constructed above the pier’s walkway to protect tourists from the sun and rain. However, Mr. Manoch revealed that while construction has been ongoing for some time, workers are facing challenges as they could only work on the lower pier section when the tides are low.

Despite these challenges, the roof construction is nearing completion, with the support poles already installed. The deputy mayor said the entire project is expected to be finished well before Songkran to allow visitors to enjoy the newly renovated pier and the covered walkway during the peak season.
