Two People Killed, Four Seriously Injured in Devastating Sri Racha Car Crash

Sri Racha, Chonburi —

A severe car accident in Sri Racha, Chonburi, claimed the lives of two people and severely injured four others on March 17th, 2024.

The incident occurred at 2:30 PM at the Prapa Intersection on Road No. 7, in the inbound lane to Laem Chabang. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to find a devastating sight.

A black Toyota Vios sedan was discovered overturned with four injured individuals. All had sustained serious injuries and received immediate medical attention on-site before being transported to Laem Chabang Hospital and Vibharam Laem Chabang Hospital. Tragically, two of the injured individuals succumbed to their injuries later. Their names and ages could not be immediately identified.

A gray Isuzu pickup truck with two occupants, Mr. Thanayut Damat, 24, and Ms. Kewalin Sriyod, 24, was also found at the scene with damage. The two had also suffered injuries.

According to eyewitness Mr. Sathitpong Dapanom, 33, the sedan was traveling towards the intersection when it allegedly disregarded the red light and collided with the pickup truck entering from the parallel motorway lane headed towards Laem Chabang Port. The impact caused the sedan to flip, resulting in the two casualties and multiple injuries.

Authorities conducted an initial investigation at the scene and gathered CCTV footage. A more thorough investigation will be conducted once the injured individuals are in stable condition to determine the exact cause of the accident.
