Thai Deputy National Police Chief Surachet Hakparn Summoned in ‘Minnie’ Gambling Network Investigation


On March 17th, 2024, the investigative team in the gambling “Minnie” network case issued a summons to Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakparn, the Thai Deputy National Police Chief, to acknowledge allegations regarding laundering money offenses.

Thung Song Hong police officers received an order from the investigative team on the “Minne” network to deliver a summons to Pol. Gen. Surachet on the allegations of being an official conspiring to launder money offenses.

Pol. Gen. Surachet must report himself to Metropolitan Police Division 2 on March 21st, 2024, according to Thai national media.

Furthermore, Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukvimol, the commissioner general of the Royal Thai Police must receive the summons of Pol. Gen. Surachet is a high-ranking police officer. The commanding officer must be informed, and the subordinates must be brought in personally to comply with regulations.

Recently, the Thung Song Hong police brought a summons to the residence to present to Pol. Lt. Col. Surachet.
Pol. Lt. Col. Surachet stated during a telephone interview with Thai national media that he was aware that the Thung Song Hong police had sent the summons, but he was absent during that time, only his subordinate was present. Therefore, it must be determined whether the summons would be accepted or not. According to Thai law, one must receive the summons by themselves.

On March 19th, Pol. Lt. Col. Surachet would hold a press conference with a lawyer to provide further information regarding the summons and allegations. He has continually denied all allegations of being connected with any gambling network and has said the accusations are political in nature and completely false.
