Bangkok-
Bangkok’s political and economic elite met on a recent Sunday for “La Foire Suisse 2024”. The one-day event raised scholarship money for underprivileged students in remote areas. Many took part in the sale of food and goods from various vendors or in a raffle. The guests were mainly Thais who went to private schools in Switzerland or who have business ties to Switzerland.
Switzerland honored the occasion with the presence of Pedro Zwahlen, the Swiss ambassador to Thailand, also for Cambodia and Laos. He – like all the guests – enjoyed raclette, a great St. Galler Schüblig and potato salad like in his native Switzerland. The event once again showed the positive ties between the Thai elite and Switzerland.
