Bang Lamung Police Shoot Suspected Motorcycle Thieves: One Teenager Injured in Pursuit

At 5:00 PM, on March 9th, 2024, Bang Lamung police officers received a shooting report in Soi Rong Pho, Bang Lamung, Chonburi, as police officers chased two suspects involved in motorcycle theft in Chonburi.

Police forensic officers and relevant agencies were dispatched to the incident scene and found an improvised blank gun with a bullet shell nearby. The police then collected them as evidence and inspected the area thoroughly.

The emergency service performed first aid to a suspect, whose name was withheld by the police as he was only 17-years-old, and was in serious condition from being shot in the left side of his back. The suspect was transferred to a local hospital for immediate medical treatment, said the police.

According to Saensuk police officers, the investigative officers investigated an area in Banglamung to track down wanted motorcycle thieves with collaboration from Mueang Chonburi, Samet, and Saen Suk police officers. The suspects allegedly stole motorcycles in the Chonburi area and exported them to a neighboring country.


Upon further police investigation, two suspects in ongoing motorcycle thefts were spotted, and the police then asked for an inspection. However, the two suspects attempted to flee and the 17-year-old suspect reportedly pointed a weapon at the police officers, according to the police.

As a result, the police reportedly shot at the concrete ground two times and the 17-year-old suspect was hit once by a stray bullet. Another suspect was able to flee, reported the police.
Initially, the police would investigate the case further to hold involved individuals accountable for their crimes.
