Rayong —

Rayong Police conducted a late-night raid on a reportedly unlicensed entertainment venue on March 9th, 2024, and arrested the operator for allegedly allowing minors into the venue and operating without a proper license.

The raid stemmed from concerned citizens’ complaints alleging that the establishment had violated several regulations, including operating without a license, exceeding permitted operating hours, and allowing access for underaged patrons.

The targeted venue, Friend Zone Pub, is located in the Pluak Daeng district of Rayong province. Prior to the raid, undercover officers went inside the venue and found many customers.

At 1:30 AM, the police force executed the raid, entering the venue during a live music performance and encountering more than 300 customers. Officers swiftly secured the exits to ensure no customers could escape.

A subsequent inspection revealed that the pub allegedly operated without a license, sold alcohol beyond permitted hours, promoted alcoholic beverages, and accepted underage customers. The owner was apprehended and faced charges for these alleged offenses.

Mr. Traiphop Wongtrairat, the Governor of Rayong province who personally led the operation, warned that the province might consider imposing a five-year closure on the pub due to its alleged repeated violations.
