Police Arrest Pattaya Perfume Theft Suspect

Pattaya —

Banglamung Police on Thursday arrested a Thai man who they suspected of stealing perfume from a karaoke venue worker in February.

The arrest was conducted on March 7th, 2024, with police identifying Mr. Jakkrapan (family name withheld), 33, as the suspect. The arrest occurred at Mr. Jakkrapan’s residence in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

The arrest stems from a theft incident that took place on February 29th in the South Naklua area. CCTV footage captured Mr. Jakkrapan, who was wearing a black shirt, red cap, and white jeans, riding a black Honda Wave motorcycle, approaching a karaoke shop around 3:57 PM.

Two minutes later, Mr. Jakkrapan allegedly noticed a parcel containing perfume located outside the shop. He was then seen allegedly taking the parcel and fleeing the scene on his motorcycle.

The victim, a karaoke shop worker, subsequently filed a police report after the incident. She said the perfume was worth 1,000 baht.

Mr. Jakkrapan initially admitted to stealing the parcel. He then led police to recover the stolen item, including the perfume and the clothing he wore during the incident.

He claimed that he committed the theft because he was unemployed. He added that he left the parcel at his house instead of selling it after discovering that it only contained perfume.

Mr. Jakkrapan is currently under arrest and will face further legal proceedings.
