Royal Thai Navy Hosts Annual Cobra Gold Joint Military Training 2024 with US and Republic of Korea, Focusing on Amphibious Operations in Sattahip

At 10:00 AM, on March 1st, 2024, the Royal Thai Navy, the United States Navy, the Republic of Korean Navy, and relevant agencies, held an annual Cobra Gold joint military training 2024, amphibious operations training, at Navy Training Field 15, Sattahip, Chonburi.

The amphibious operations training was prepared in an emergency response to any hypothetical enemy that attempted to seize shores with navy units.

The militant tactics were used in the joint military training from Thailand, the United States, and Korea, with military equipment and conveyance from each country. The United States deployed the USS Somerset and an F-16 fighter plane. The Republic of Korea deployed a ROKS No Jeok Bong (LSTI1-689) and an amphibious vehicle the KAAV.

The purpose of the amphibious operations training was to strengthen combat preparedness and develop military capabilities to build confidence in the Thai army.
