Finnish National Hospitalized After Self-Harm Incident in Pattaya Apartment

Pattaya —

A 29-year-old Finnish tourist was rushed to a hospital in Pattaya early Tuesday morning, February 27th, after physically harming himself in an apartment.

At around 3:36 AM today, Pattaya police responded to a report of a self-harm incident at an apartment building located on Soi Buakhao in Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi.

Upon arrival, police and rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation encountered a distressed individual, later identified as 29-year-old Finnish national Mr. K, making loud and incoherent sounds. (TPN media has chosen to withhold the name of the tourist due to his mental health conditions.)

Mr. K had barricaded himself inside his third-floor apartment. Rescue teams were able to gain entry and discovered a disarrayed room with bloodstains scattered throughout.

Mr. K had sustained several injuries, including sharp wounds on his face and right shoulder. He received initial medical care from the rescue team before being transported to Banglamung Hospital for further treatment. Mr. K was in a state of apparent delirium and possible psychosis and as a result was uncooperative and unable to answer any questions from law enforcement.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and have not yet released any information regarding potential intoxication or the specific reasons behind Mr. K’s condition. He remains under medical observation at a local hospital.
