Officials Shut Down Allegedly Illicit Nightclub in Pattaya

Pattaya —

In the early hours of Monday, February 26th, authorities led by Banglamung district chief Mr. Weekit Manarojkit raided an entertainment venue known as “The Moonlight” located on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya.

The action came after reports surfaced that the establishment had continued operating despite being ordered closed for five years by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) in December of 2020. The closure order was issued due to the establishment reportedly allowing individuals under the age of 20 to frequent its premises and persistently violating previous closure directives.

Mr. Weekit was notified of the illicit operation of the establishment. Following an inspection, law enforcement teams confirmed that the establishment remained open and actively served customers, blatantly disregarding the NCPO’s directive.

Initially, the owner of the establishment, who was not identified, was charged with operating an entertainment venue without a permit, selling alcoholic beverages without a license, selling alcoholic beverages beyond legally permitted hours, and violating the National Council for Peace and Order’s closure order.
