Thai Expressway Authority Hosts Luck Lock Love Campaign on Rama 9 Bridge Parallel Bridge

Bangkok—

The Expressway Authority of Thailand organized a “Luck Lock Love” campaign on the parallel bridge to the Rama 9 Bridge, which connected the metropolitan from the expressway Route Rama 3 – Dao Khanong – Outer Ring Road in the western part of Bangkok, which was under construction before its actual opening in May of 2024.

The Luck Lock Love event invited all people to be part of Thailand’s history for the first time, allowing the general public to walk on the bridge for memorable moments and the beauty of Bangkok, both during the day and at night, over the Chao Phraya River, from February 14th to 18th and from February 23rd to 25th, 2024.

The event started on February 14th, with 111 couples registering for marriage, with a 360-degree scenic view on the parallel bridge to the Rama 9 Bridge, a new landmark of Thailand.

Furthermore, there were other activities such as live music, street shows, and food stalls.

The parallel bridge to the Rama 9 Bridge started from the area near the Rama 9 Bridge on the Thonburi side in the Rat Burana, crossing the Chao Phraya River to connect with the 6-lane elevated road and converging with the Bang Khlo interchange in Yan Nawa, connecting directly to the Sirat Expressway and the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway, totaling approximately 2 kilometers in length.
It was estimated to accommodate up to 150,000 vehicles per day and up to 8 traffic lanes.

The parallel bridge to the Rama 9 Bridge was constructed with advanced engineering technology and construction innovation, making it strong and able to withstand wind speeds of up to 270 kilometers per hour, equivalent to the force of a tornado.

The parallel bridge to the Rama 9 Bridge was highly resilient and strong enough to withstand earthquakes or storms, yet maintained its Thai identity wonderfully.
