Pattaya —
Na Jomtien police have arrested a 39-year-old Bolt driver for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.
The suspect, Mr. Pramuan (last name withheld), 39, was arrested on Thursday, February 15th, on sexual assault charges against a child.
The arrest follows a complaint filed on February 14th by the victim, identified under the pseudonym “E,” who accused Pramuan, a driver who worked for a ride-sharing application named Bolt, of forcing her into his residence and sexually assaulting her.
According to the complaint, on February 13th at around 12:20 AM, E hailed a taxi through the Bolt app for a ride from Thepprasit Road to a dormitory in the Nongprue area. However, Pramuan allegedly bypassed the intended destination and instead took her to his residence in Soi Na Jomtien 2.
E alleged that Pramuan then used physical force against her before eventually returning her to the dormitory the following morning.
Distressed by the incident, E consulted with family and friends before filing a formal complaint with the Na Jomtien police. Following an investigation, the Pattaya Provincial Court issued an arrest warrant for Pramuan on February 14th. He was subsequently apprehended and faced charges of “abducting a child aged over 15 but not yet 18 from their parents or guardians for indecent acts and using force to commit indecent acts against others.”
