At 07:35 AM, on February 10th, 2024, their Royal Majesties King Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida proceeded to the Ambara Villa, Dusit Palace, Bangkok, to perform rituals as part of the Makha Bucha Day and the Chinese New Year festival.
During the Buddhist ceremony, His Royal Majesty the King lit candles and joss sticks, then offered them at the Buddha’s Footprint according to the royal traditions at various temples.
The temples included Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram, Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram, Wat Ratchapradit Sathitmahasimaram, Bangkok, and Wat Nives Dhammaprachit, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
Subsequently, at 08:01 AM, their Majesties the King and Queen descended to the front area of the Ambara Villa, or the royal mansion, to participate in the presentation of plaques for the Chinese New Year festival.
After completing the ceremony, His Royal Majesty the King and Her Royal Majesty the Queen burned silver paper and gold paper as appropriate for the occasion, then ascended to the Ambara Villa.
